Bantry Bay is one of the deapest natural harbours in the world.
It is one of which lay claim to the title of “second largest natural harbour in the world by navigational area” after Sydney, Australia. In recent years Cork animal lovers have been given a rare treat, a chance to see one of nature’s friendliest and peaceful creatures.Over the last six years it seems the dolphins come back to join us every year. Take your chances and join us as we once more try to track down these wonderful marine mammals. Most common sightings are of common and bottlenose dolphins.
We will show you the spectacular coastline of Beara which is in complete contrast to the view from the shore, gone are the houses, the road signs, the traffic. Instead, there are empty beaches, snug harbours caves and great expanses of fields and cliffs – the real visual delight of Ireland and of course the wildlife.
Bantry Bay is home to countless species of sea birds. We have regular sightings of seals, porpoises, dolphins and sometimes even whales.
